In reply to Mr. HANBURY,
THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER
said, that in all likelihood he would propose that this Bill should be passed through Committee pro formâ on Friday, with the view of introducing some Amendments No contested step would be taken on that evening.
MR. HUNT
wished to know when the discussion would be taken on the principle of the Bill?
THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER
said, it was not his fault if, on the second reading, there had been only a moderate amount of discussion. Any hon. Member who chose could again discuss the principle of the Bill, on the Motion for its re-committal, after it had been passed through Committee pro formâ.
