Question
MR. BAILLIE COCHRANE
said, he wished to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether any efforts have been made by Her Majesty's Government to dissuade the Prussian authorities from the triumphal march of the Prussian Army through Paris, as it can only have for its object the humiliation of the French nation, and it may be attended by most calamitous results?
VISCOUNT ENFIELD
said, he trusted the hon. Member for the Isle of Wight would not think him discourteous if he stated simply that, as no communication on the subject to which his Question referred had been addressed to Her Majesty's Government, Her Majesty's Government had not thought it proper to take any steps in the matter.
