continued that it was doing scant justice to the fair sex to move the Second Reading of the Bill without saying a word in favour of it. It was approaching the hour when a Division could not be taken. He had not had time to read the Bill and he had not anticipated that the Second Reading would be moved in this way. The proceeding was not calculated to do good to those whose cause the hon. Member championed. There was a difference of opinion as to whether married women should have votes or only women who were unmarried or women holding a property qualification.
It being half-past 5 o'clock the Debate stood adjourned.
