To ask the Secretary of State for War what was the value of contracts placed in Scotland for clothing, etc., of the Regular Army and Militia during the last financial year; and what was the corresponding value of contracts placed in England.

The cost of the articles set forth in reply to a Question put by my hon. friend on the 17th instant amounted to £60,783.‡ Information as regards the cost of similar contracts placed in England in 1906–7 would involve considerable labour in preparation, and I hope my hon. friend will not press for it.
