asked what officer will preside over the proceedings of the Irish Senate; and whether the Government propose on the Report stage of the Government of Ireland Bill to make provision for the appointment of such officer?

No such provision is necessary. The Senate will have the power inherent in all assemblies of choosing their own chairman.
