asked whether all the universities in Ireland are now, in practice as well as in theory, equally open to students of all religious beliefs; and whether any one of those universities is prevented by its constitution from making the Irish language essential to matriculation, or in any other way encouraging the study of that language?
Mr. BIRRELL
The answer to the first paragraph of the question is in the affirmative, and to the second paragraph in the negative.
