National School Teachers (Ireland)

asked how many national teachers in Ireland have been promoted to first grade and have not yet got the salary attaching to that grade; and what would be the annual cost of giving these men the extra salary which this promotion entitles them to?

Ninety-four male teachers who have qualified for promotion to the second division of the first grade and nineteen who have qualified for promotion to the first division of that grade are awaiting vacancies which will admit of their promotion. An annual sum of £1,400 would be required to pay these teachers at the higher rates from the dates on which they qualified for promotion.
