asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he has yet received the deputation from the London Chamber of Commerce in reference to the establishment of a national seed-testing station; and whether, in view of the widespread adulteration and low germinating power of farm seeds this season, and the inability of British purchasers to get them reliably tested any nearer than Germany or Switzerland, he is prepared to take some action in this matter without delay?

I received a deputation yesterday representing the London Chamber of Commerce and other bodies interested in the establishment of a national seed-testing station. It is a question of great complexity, and I am not prepared to make any definite announcement at present.
