Order read for resuming Adjourned Debate on Question [20th July], "That a Select Committee be appointed to report in what circumstances and on what conditions His Majesty's Military Forces should be employed to deal with disturbances or threatened disturbances of the peace among the civil population: "—[ Mr. Gulland.]

Question again proposed. Debate resumed.

Question put, and agreed to.

"That a Select Committee be appointed to report in what circumstances and on what conditions His Majesty's Military Forces should be employed to deal with disturbances or threatened disturbances of the peace among the civil population."

Committee accordingly nominated of Mr. Butcher, Mr. Cave, Lord Hugh Cecil, Mr. Hamar Greenwood, Mr. Ellis Griffith, Sir Ivor Herbert, Mr. Hicks Beach, Mr. M'Ghee, Mr. Pollock, Mr. Pringle, Mr. William Redmond, Mr. Albion Richard-son, Mr. George Roberts, Major Stanley, and Mr. John Ward.

Ordered, "That the Committee have power to send for persons, papers, and records."

Ordered, "That Five be the quorum."—[ Mr. Gulland.]

Whereupon Mr. DEPUTY-SPEAKER, pursuant to the Order of the House of 17th July, proposed the Question, "That this House do now adjourn."
