In accordance with private notice, I wish to asked the Under-Secretary of State for India, in vie-w of the fact that a serious labour dispute is now going on at the St. Paul's Cray Paper Mills, Kent, whether they have a Government contract from his Department; will the Fair-Wages Clause be included in the contract; and whether he is aware that complaints are being made that the Fair-Wages Clause is not being observed?

The answer to the first part of the hon. Member's question is in the affirmative; the Fair-Wages Clause is included in this as in other contracts made by this Office; a complaint has been received, and is now under investigation.
