asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Shipping Controller if he is aware of the discontent amongst the checking and clerical staff of the City of Dublin Company's steamers at present being worked under Government control; and if he will say when they will be paid an increase in wages or if they will receive the Committee of Production's award, as is paid to the staffs of other requisitioned steamers running from Dublin?

The remuneration of the employés in question has been substantially improved since the ships were requisitioned. Their recent application is, I understand, now under consideration.
