asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in placing contracts for the construction and repair of ships, any special provision is made for the use of implements and tools; and whether this sum is paid to the contractor or whether any portion of it is payable to the workers in respect of implements and tools supplied by them?

I am informed that it is not the usual practice in placing contracts for the construction or repair of ships to make special provision for the use of implements and, tools.
