"Berwick" was sold by public auction or by tender to German purchasers for breaking up; if by tender, whether the ship was advertised in the shipping newspapers as being for sale; how many tenders were received; and, if the ship was not so advertised, how tenders were obtained?

The "Berwick," which was sold over two years ago, was re-sold to a German shipbreaker with Admiralty permission, to enable the British buyer, who was in financial difficulties, to continue his operations on other ships.

When was H.M.S. "Berwick" originally advertised?
