asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies if any orders for material required in connection with any of the recently-granted Crown Colony loans have been placed abroad; and, if so, the reason for this step, and the percentage placed of the total money thus expended?

No orders for material chargeable to loans recently raised by Colonial Governments have been placed outside the British Empire. The only case of which I am aware in which an order has been placed outside this country is that referred to in the answer given to a similar question on the 2nd August, namely, a small order for chemical drugs by the Government of Ceylon.
