asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the estimated profits of brewing concerns in the United Kingdom for the accounting years from that closed in the Income Tax year ended 1922–23 up to the present day?

The following table shows the estimated profits of brewing concerns for the accounting years ended in the Income Tax years 1922–23 to 1928–29 inclusive. The figures represent the profits as computed for Income Tax purposes less the amounts allowed for wear and tear of machinery and plant, but without any adjustment or deduction in respect of Excess Profits Duty or Corporation Profits Tax, and they include not alone brewing profits but all profits arising from any trade or activity that is ancillary to the main business.
