asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies the surplus in British Guiana at the end of the last financial year; and what is the estimated cost of repatriating those East Indian immigrants still entitled to return passages to India?

There was no surplus in British Guiana at the end of the last financial year. The total East Indian population remaining in British Guiana as at 31st December, 1928, was 126,964,
