asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to what extent progress has been made by the League of Nations in the setting up of machinery which will ensure that undertakings given since the war to refrain in future from the use in warfare of poison gases and other noxious substances will be honoured by the States that have subscribed to them?

No special machinery has been set up for dealing with this question. Under the Geneva

Spey. Preliminary observations and inquiries are also being made by the Department with a view to the preparation of schemes dealing with flooding of lands in Dumfriesshire by the Dalton Burn, the River Annan and the River Nith. At the present stage of the investigations I am unable to supply the information asked for in the last part of the question.
