asked the Home Secretary the total number of police widows in receipt of ordinary pensions under the provisions of Section 3 of the Police Act, 1921; and the total annual sum paid to these widows?

On 31st March, 1929, pensions were being paid to 2,936 widows of ex-members of police forces, including pensioners. The total sum so paid was £92,704. These figures relate to forces in England and Wales.
