asked the Minister of Labour how many civil servants, male and female respectively, have been taken over to form part of the staff of the Unemployment Assistance Board; how many officials, male and female, who were employed in public assistance work by local authorities have been also taken over; and how many members of the staff, male and female, have been engaged from out-slide without any prior experience, either in the Civil Service or in the employment of the Poor Law authorities?

As the hon. Member will appreciate, the Unemployment Assistance Board has not yet appointed its full staff, and present figures would necessarily be incomplete. I shall be happy to give the information if a Question is put down at a later stage.
