asked the Home Secretary the total amounts of Excise penalties recovered from the public and credited, respectively, to county and borough councils and to police superannuation funds; and whether he will, in view of recent changes in the financial relations between local authorities and the Treasury, review the practice of linking police duties with police pensions?

Police superannuation funds ceased to exist as separate funds in 1921, and I know of no existing financial arrangement which could be described as a link betwen police duties and police pensions. I am unable to say what sums may be credited to county and borough councils by way of Excise penalties.
