asked the Home Secretary whether the advice of his Department was sought by the Commonwealth Government of Australia with regard to prohibiting the entry of Egon Kisch, who desired to attend an anti-War congress in that Dominion; if so, the grounds for giving such advice; whether Kisch has been refused entry into this country; and if so, the reasons?

The question whether any particular person may be admitted to Australia is one solely for the Australian authorities to determine, and no question of advice by His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom arises. As regards the last part of the question, the person referred to was refused leave to land in the United Kingdom in September, 1933, on account of his known subversive activities.
