asked the Minister of Labour whether he can state the number of persons registered as unemployed in the following places: Brynamman, Garnant and Glanamman, Ammanford, Tumble, Hendy, Llangennech, Llanelly, Barry Port, Trimsaran and Pontyates; and whether he can state the number of such persons who have had no regular employment for 12 months or more and the number from each place that have been transferred under any of the Ministry's schemes in the last two years?

The following table shows, for Employment Exchange areas, (a) the total numbers of unemployed persons on the registers at 26th October, 1936, and (b) the numbers of persons applying for insurance benefit or unemployment allowances, included in those totals, who had been continuously on the registers for 12 months or more (corresponding figures for other persons on the registers not being available):

Of the persons who have been on the registers for a year or more, some may have had one or more short spells of employment, lasting not more than three days each, during the period. Statistics of the numbers transferred from these areas are not available.There are no Employment Exchanges at Brynamman, Glanamman, Hendy, Llangennech, Trimsaran and Pontyates, and separate statistics for these places cannot therefore be supplied.
