Business Of The House

Volume 319: debated on Tuesday 2 February 1937

May I ask the Prime Minister how far he intends to go when the House has given a Second Reading to the Regency Bill?

After the Second Reading of the Regency Bill, we propose to proceed with the remaining Orders, that is to say, with the Money Resolution and up to and including No. 8. Most of the Orders are of a minor character, and we propose to go steadily on, getting as many of them as possible, without asking the House to sit late.

Motion made, and Question put,

"That the Proceedings on Government Business be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House)."—The Prime Minister.]

The House divided: Ayes, 253; Noes, 111.

Division No. 60.]
