asked the Minister of Labour whether he will state the number of firms which have in operation a five-day week and a working week of 45 hours or less?

The available information on this subject is given on pages 82–85 of the report of the Chief Inspector of Factories for the year 1934 (Cmd. 4931). The report for the year 1935 indicates that there was little change in the position during that year.
