asked the Minister of Transport whether he has any information to give regarding experiments in the use of cotton cloth for road-making?

Experiments have tended to show that no advantage is gained by using cotton cloth for road-making in this country.

Will the right hon. Gentleman get into touch with the people in the North who have been experimenting, and whose opinion is different from that expressed in his answer?

I have been in touch with those who have been conducting these experiments, and their reports are not encouraging. I am ready to listen to any representations that may be made to me.
