asked the Minister of Health whether in the creation of the new training and holiday camps labour will be recruited from the Government training establishments and not from the ranks of those who are already employed?
The precise source of labour for the training camps is receiving attention, and I can assure my hon. Friend that, where practicable, consideration will be given to the claims of men in the Government training establishments.
Is my hon. Friend aware that the Prime Minister recently made an appeal to the young unemployed to come to these training centres and fill up the gaps, and that unless Departments of the Government assist in this matter, it is extremely difficult to get much progress?
May I ask for an assurance that no. Irish labour will be employed?
Will work be guaranteed for these people after they leave the camps?
I should require notice of that question.
asked the Minister of Health whether he has any estimate of the number of persons to be employed in the construction of camps contemplated by the Government?
No estimate is yet possible of the number of persons to be employed.
