asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he proposes to make illegal the practice of refusing to serve a customer with the commodity desired unless a further purchase is made simultaneously of some commodity which is not desired; and whether any cases of this nature have as yet been brought to his notice?

By the Food (Conditions of Sale) Order, made under the Defence Regulations on the 6th September, it is an offence for any person in connection with the sale of any article of food to impose or attempt to impose any condition relating to the purchase of any other article. As regards the second part of the question, I have received a certain number of complaints and am making inquiries into them.
