asked the Postmaster-General whether he will issue a statement on the condition under which ex-postmen are being requested to undertake temporary duties during the war period?

Pensioned postmen, like other pensioned civil servants, are being invited to undertake temporary duty during the war. The conditions of employment are those laid down by the Treasury for re-employed pensioners generally. Pensions will be temporarily suspended or abated in accordance with the Superannuation Acts, but the men will be allowed the wages they were receiving at the date of retirement.
