asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware of the growing feeling among the electors over the position of old age pensioners; whether he has considered the resolution carried in Leigh at a mass meeting on Thursday, 14th May, 1942, asking for an increase of pension, the abolition of the means test and the removal of the stamp qualification, so that all aged people will be treated alike and with what result?

My right hon. Friend has considered the resolution to which my hon. Friend refers, and would refer him to the answer which he gave to him on Tuesday, 3rd March.
