asked the Minister of Agriculture whether his Department will convene a conference of all those directly interested in the technical development of agriculture to arrange more effective means of bringing the results of research home to the practical farmer and so increasing the volume and efficiency of food production in Great Britain?

The establishment of the Agricultural Improvement Council and of the Ministry's Technical Development Committee, working in co-ordination with the technical development sub-committees of county war agricultural executive committees, is intended to achieve the results desired by my hon. and gallant Friend, and I do not consider a further conference would serve any useful purpose.
