asked the Minister of Health which countries, other than Soviet Russia, have adopted a universal and free medical service such as is contemplated by Assumption B of the Beveridge Report; and whether he has any information as to the measure of success which has attended the experiment where it has been in operation?

I am not aware of any very close parallel in other countries to the comprehensive health service in the sense in which we are now considering it. The second part of the Question therefore scarcely arises.
