asked the Minister of Pensions whether he has considered the alternative pension scheme for disability-pensioned Service men and widows of Service men sent to him by the Dundee and District Association of Wives, Widows and Dependants of Sailors and Soldiers; and what reply he has made?

After full examination of the question of alternative pensions in the light of the experience gained after the last war I am convinced that a scheme of this kind is both unsound in principle and unsatisfactory in its results, and I regret that I can hold out no hope of any similar provision being introduced for the present war. A reply to this effect is being sent to the Association.
