asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what financial concession has been recently made to British personnel in the Egyptian police?

Under existing arrangements certain British members of the Egyptian Police are paid from British funds and the remainder from Egyptian funds. The concession takes the form of the payment, with effect from the 1st October last, to the British personnel paid by His Majesty's Government of a cost-of-living allowance on the same scale as a similar allowance granted, from the same date, to the British personnel paid by the Egyptian Government.
