asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether there has been any increase in the consumption of petrol by taximeter-cabs during the past six months in Hull; and is he aware that the Hull authority is of opinion that the use of petrol is being abused by taximeter-cab owners?

The answer to both parts of the Question is in the negative. During the last six months the number of cabs rationed in Hull has remained constant and the petrol issues for them have fallen. I have not received any representations on the subject from the town council.
