asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he will make it clear that any question of the cession of the whole or part of Labrador to Canada will not be considered by His Majesty's Government but will be left to a decision of Newfoundland when responsible democratic government is restored?

If a question of the transfer of Labrador were raised, it would obviously be one for the Newfoundland people themselves, and I am glad of the opportunity to make this clear.
