Major Thornton-Kemsley
asked the Minister of Supply to what extent it is illegal under the Defence Regulations to use wood for erecting gates for replacement; and under what conditions spare timber can be used?
Mr. Peat
The use of timber is subject to licence, and is not licensed for erecting gates for replacement, other than those needed for agricultural purposes. The question of permitting the use of wood below a certain diameter is, however, under consideration.
