asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the altered circumstances of house owners owing to the war, he will take steps to ensure that there are no obstacles such as conditions under leases allowed to prevent the sub-division of large houses into flats?

Section 163 of the Housing Act, 1936, enables the county court in certain circumstances to vary the terms of a lease which is restrictive in the sense referred to by my hon. Friend.
