Tithe Remission

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the total tithe-remission granted each year under Section 14 of the 1936 Act; whether the Report of the Redemption Annuities Account under Sections 25 and 27 of this. Act are still presented to Parliament; and, if so, on which dates?

The amount or remission granted to date in respect of each year 1937 to 1942 is as follows:

Accounts prepared pursuant to Section 27 (1) of the Tithe Act, 1936, together with the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General thereon, are presented annually to Parliament. The last Accounts and Report in respect of the financial year 1941 were presented to Parliament on 9th February, 1943, and were published on 24th February as a House of Commons Paper (H.C. 44).
