asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the average cost per house of the new rural houses now being allocated to the counties in Scotland?

The local authorities are pressing on with preliminary work and should be in a position to invite tenders shortly. Until these have been received, I regret there is no reliable basis for a firm
