asked the Minister of Agriculture to what causes are attributed the inadequate recruitment for the Women's Land Army?

Recruitment for the Women's Land Army has averaged about 1,000 a week for some time now. The difficulty of obtaining sufficient recruits to meet all the needs of agriculture and other vital war work including the women's services is due to the general shortage of mobile women.
