asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether, in view of the limited number of copies available, and the restricted circulation of Hansard throughout the country in clubs, institutions and Service messes, he will give an assurance that it is not the policy of the Government to restrict that circulation, and that immediate steps will be taken to ensure that copies are made available to all appropriate bodies who wish to become regular subscribers?

There is ho restriction on circulation, and copies are and always have been available to any person or body willing to subscribe.

Is my hon. Friend aware that it is difficult for the public to obtain copies? Is he aware that many people think that the Government are not anxious to have Hansard widely circulated, and that it may be they do not care for the searching supplementary questions it contains?

We shall be very anxious to let anybody have a copy who is prepared to pay for it.
