Sir G. Fox
asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the urgent need of agricultural workers to maintain production, he will alter the instructions issued to county W.A.E.Cs. in regard to men under the Class B scheme for release.
Mr. Collick
Approval has now been given to the inclusion of up to 10,000 agricultural workers under the scheme for Class B block releases. Under this scheme the Service Departments offer release to the appropriate number of men according to their age and length of service categories, and War Agricultural Executive Committees will not be able to accept applications for the release of particular agricultural workers.
