asked the Secretary of State for War whether the agreements between this country and various Allied countries governing the mutual award of decorations to personnel of each other armed forces on a quota basis in recognition of military service still continue; how many British awards have been granted to the personnel of the armies of each Allied country during the war and vice versa; and what proportion of the Allied awards to British personnel have been in recognition of operational service as against service in this country or in base areas overseas.

The grant of honours to members of the Allied Forces continues, but, on grounds of public policy, it is contrary to the practice of His Majesty's Government to give the information asked for. Announcements that approval has been given for the wearing of foreign Orders by British personnel are, however, published in the London Gazette.
