asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will provide for the issue of supplementary coupons to students entering residential university colleges where they are required to provide their own bedding.

Coupons are not required for bed linen, blankets or mattresses, but a proportion of current supplies is set aside for certain people, such as those who have lost their possessions by bombing, and those who are now setting up house for the first time on marriage, whose needs are greatest. While bedding is so short, special supplies for students could not be set aside.
