asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the difficulties in maintaining the sugar ration, he will ensure an adequate provision of labour to prevent the further ploughing under and waste of sugar beet crops due to shortage of labour.

The Government are taking all practicable steps to ensure an adequate supply of labour for the harvesting of this year's sugar beet crop.

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that it is not programme we want but performance?
