Considered in Committee.

[Mr. HUBERT BEAUMONT in the Chair]

Clause I.—( Certain proceedings in High Court of Bombay to be valid.)

Motion made, and Question proposed "That the Clause stand part of the Bill."

11.30 p.m.

May I ask whether the Minister could give me an assurance about the point which I raised when the Bill came up previously, on the question of the notification given on these occasions? Could he give any further explanation why previous notification is not understood by those practising at the bar of the Indian High Court?

:I do not think I can add anything to what was said on the last occasion except that notification was done by reference, and, for some reason or another, those concerned did not take the trouble to probe into the details contained in the notification. I am quite sure due attention will be paid to the suggestion the right hon. Gentleman made on Second Reading.

:Can we have an assurance that those concerned will take due note that we have passed this Bill with such care in the Imperial Parliament?

I am sure that due attention will be paid to what the right hon. Gentleman has said.

Question put, and agreed to.

Clause ordered to stand part of the Bill.

Clause 2 ordered to stand part of the Bill.

Bill reported, without Amendment; read the Third time, and passed.
