asked the Minister of Labour how many ex-Servicemen and women have been given resettlement grants; what has been the average amount of these grants; and how many applications for grants have been refused.

From the inception of the scheme to 30th September, 1945, 998 grants have been authorised. In 989 cases, a grant was refused. The average grant was approximately £100.
