asked the Minister of Education if he will consult the appropriate Department with a view to reducing the paper allowances for non-essential publications displayed on bookstalls and increasing the amount available for the publication of text-books for educational purposes.

No separate quota for educational text-books exists. But my right hon. Friend the Minister is in consultation with my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade to see what can be done to improve the supply of such books.
