asked the Minister of Education how many of the ex-Servicemen accepted as suitable for training as teachers are now awaiting entry to an emergency training college; and how many of these have been waiting for a period of six months or more.

On 20th March about 15,000 Servicemen selected for training had been released from the Forces and were awaiting allocation to colleges. About 10,000 of these had been waiting six months or more from the date of their release.
