asked the Minister of Labour if he will give the unemployment figures for the North-Western Region of England for the weeks ending 16th and 22nd February, and 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th March, respectively.
The table below shows the numbers of insured persons registered as unemployed in the North-Western Region at each date in February and March for which figures are available, together with the estimated numbers who were stood off from employment but were not claiming unemployment benefit.

asked the Minister of Labour if he will include in the unemployment statistics figures of underemployment caused by part-time working in industry resulting from the coal shortage.
The employment returns rendered by manufacturing employers for the end of March include information about the numbers stood oft or on short time from all causes, but without distinguishing separately the part due to coal shortage. I propose to include information on this subject in the statement on employment' and unemployment to be issued next month.
asked the Minister of Labour the number of unemployed in the Clyde district.
At 10th March, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 37,201 unemployed insured persons on the registers of employment exchanges in the Clyde area.
